Conflict Repair with Cacao

Cacao & Repair

Elizabeta weaves Restorative Practices for conflict resolution with mindful-compassion meditations and the medicine of cacao to support couples or groups in resolving conflicts and returning to connection. As a vasodilator, cacao increases circulation around the heart, enhancing our capacity for empathy and compassion. By teaching participants how to connect with cacao as a sacred medicine and providing conversational structure that supports listening and speaking from the heart, Elizabeta facilitates reparative conversations that go beyond resolving conflict to deeper connection and understanding among participants. She is experienced in supporting the repair of relational ruptures or hurts, organizational conflict, and power misuses. Mayan and Aztec nations have understood Cacao as a sacred medicine for thousands of years, using cacao to support diplomacy between nations and for resolving conflicts within families. She donates 25% of each session to Mayan-led organizations in Sololá, Guatemala, to participate in right relationship and reparations with the protectors of this plant ally. We need to strengthen our capacity for compassion, vulnerability, forgiveness, and empathy in our interpersonal and organizational relationships to participate in collective liberation and cacao offers us her wisdom to do so.
